Welcome back to This Page is a Portal, dear reader. Today, as with every day, I am so glad you’re here. I simply can’t overstate how critical my creative journaling practice is to my mental and emotional health right now, as is sharing this space with my fellow hobbyists. Journals, stationery, and art supplies have always been a big part of my life, since I was little twin stars obsessed geek…and there’s something about it right now that feels different. My guess is that my current experience with my journals (and all the parallel aspects of this hobby) is shaped by the absurdity and terror of these times, paired with my current phase of mid-life, paired with the culmination of many many years of a meandering practice.

Simply put, my journals are comfort objects that defy all logic and reason and my time with them is keeping me any amount of buoyant that I am. That, and incredible friends, family, community and an unwavering commitment to our collective potential to be safe, well, thriving.

Let me share with you what this actually looks like (a photo heavy post for your review, dear reader).1
